Estimates

Estimates for restorations can be given on receipt of the scanned photograph. Low resolutions scans are acceptable for initial estimates (1Mb) but in some case, higher resolution scans may be requested.

Quotes

For a free firm quote, your image should be scanned according to these instructions. Photo’s to be received digitally only.

Please email a high-resolution scan at least 3000 pixels on its longest size or a 4Mb low compression JPEG file. If you work in megapixels then 6 Mpx or more is preferred.

In the event of a particularly challenging restoration, where timescales need to be extended, you will be notified by email and the options discussed. All quotes are valid for 3 months.

Fee:

By agreeing for us to proceed with the work, it is seen as a commitment between both parties. For us to provide a restored image and for the client to work with us to bring the order to completion and payment. Not all images can be restored 100%. We will happily make additional revisions to an image upon request (within reason, and to a level of restoration that the image will allow). Any major reworking or additional requests not included in the original quote will be quoted at extra cost. Restorations are priced based on the level of damage and fit into various grades. “100% Satisfaction Guarantee”: Should your restored photo(s) not match your expectations, I will work with you to fix any issues until you are satisfied with the result. In the rare event that I am not able to meet your requirements, you will not be charged for the work. I evaluate all requests before undertaking any work and reserve the right to refuse a project if I feel that I will be unable to achieve a satisfactory result.

AI – Digital Memories will use whatever tool possible to restore your photos, on occasion AI (artificial intelligence) will be used to help get you the best possible results.

Prices will vary depending on the level of complexity of your photo, starting from £10.00 up to plus £40.00 for more complex work required. All fees are non refundable, it being the agreed loss suffered by the photographer due to cancellation. All fees must be paid in full within 24 hours of confirmation.  

Payments:

Payments must be made via bank transfer. Bank details will be provided once you are satisfied with the work provided.

​The charges in this contract are based on the standard price list, which is adjusted periodically and future bookings shall be charged at the prices in effect at the time the booking or order is placed. 

Images:

Digital Memories images may take up to 7 days to complete your restoration, although this can sometimes take longer for larger images and busier periods of the year. If you require your images for a certain date please submit your photo well in advance. 

Digital Memories retains the right to edit the photographs in agreement with the client to enhance to final outcome of the photograph. We will try to maintain as much authenticity as possible. Any adjustments will be discussed and agreed with you.

Cancellation/Postponement:

In the event of a cancellation, if restorative work has already commenced on the photograph a minimum fee of £5.00 (simple restoration); £10.00 (Intermediate restoration); £15.00 (Complex restoration); £20.00 (very complex restoration) will be liable. If no work has commenced no fee will be required. It being the agreed loss suffered by the Restorer due to cancellation.

In the unlikely event the Restorer is injured or becomes too ill to work, all monies paid shall be refunded to the client.

Overrun Editing Time:

The Restorer reserves the right to charge for additional editing time (additional to the agreed payment) if the photograph provided by the Client are deemed more difficult to use due to the poor quality or extreme damage of the photograph. This will be discussed with the Client prior to any further work being completed so they can make a decision if they wish to proceed or not.

Image Ownership:

The Client retains full ownership of the photograph to be restored. Permission will be sought for the completed work to be used by Digital Memories as part of their ongoing growth and development to increase their client base. If the Client does not wish to allow Digital Memories to use their photograph on either their website or social media pages this will be respected and the image will not be used.

Digital Memories does not own the copyright to any uploaded original files.

Cooperation:

The client shall assist and cooperate with the Restorer in obtaining the desired image. Client and/or other key individuals will be respectful to the Restorer.

Restorer has the right to cancel a booking, without refund, if there is lack of cooperation or respect.

Copyright:

All images and copyrights of the original and restored photograph are the property of the Client.

Limit of Liability:

Digital Memories - Kathy Simons Photography takes the utmost care with respect to the exposure and retouching of digital edits. However, the original of the photograph will remain with the Client therefore reducing the risk of photographs being lost or damaged, either with the Restorer or in transit.

Image Storage:

All edited images will be stored for a minimum of 6 months after which future storage is at the sole discretion of the Photographer. Digital Memories reserves the right after this set period to delete all or any images without notifying the Client.

After receiving restored Digital Memories images, it is the clients responsibility to download the image from Digital Memories. The Client is responsible for making a back up of all photos. Please ensure that you make multiple copies on your computer, cloud or any other storage. 

Entire Agreement:

This agreement contains the entire understanding between Restorer and Client. It supersedes all prior agreements between the parties. The only way to add or change this agreement is to do so in writing, signed by all parties.

If the parties want to waive one provision of this agreement, it does not mean that any other provision is also waived. This constitutes an order for a photo restoration.
